Description

The double handle tray has a spiral eye pattern woven in an oval to match the shape of the basket, woven with varying tones of light browns. The tray dimensions are 18 3/4″ x 14″ x 2 1/2″

Handwoven fiber baskets and trays attributed to Papua New Guinea. Traditional geometric motifs including starburst, floral, and spiral d4signs. Acquired as Papua New Guinea basketry. Construction, materials, and design are consistent with basketry traditions of New Guinea, though exact regional origin has not been independently verified. The baskets and trays are:
