Description

The tray has handles and a double starburst, woven with tones of brown. The tray dimensions are 18 1/2″ x 22″ x 1 1/2″

Handwoven fiber baskets and trays attributed to Papua New Guinea. Traditional geometric motifs including starburst, floral, and spiral designs. Acquired as Papua New Guinea basketry. Construction, materials, and design are consistent with basketry traditions of New Guinea, though exact regional origin has not been independently verified. The baskets and trays are:
